Marching Towards Green! HKC Showcased at the Greater Bay Area Carbon Footprint Label Certification Achievement Exhibition
2024-11-01

Under the era strategy of green and sustainable development, the carbon footprint has become the green passport for products to enter the international market. As more and more international trade rules incorporate carbon footprint into the assessment indicators, large multinational companies have also put forward requirements for their supply chains to disclose product carbon footprints and reduce carbon emissions. Therefore, the "carbon barrier" with the product carbon footprint as the core is gradually becoming a new type of technical trade barrier in international trade, posing new challenges and opportunities to the international competitiveness of enterprises.

This time, HKC was showcased at the Greater Bay Area Carbon Footprint Achievement Exhibition. It not only demonstrated its achievements and sustainable potential in green development but also, under the impetus of carbon footprint certification, took the lead and fully committed to carbon footprint actions, fulfilling its green development commitments.

Currently, HKC has fully complied with the product carbon footprint label certification system. From the acquisition of raw materials, manufacturing, distribution and circulation, use and consumption until the end-of-life recycling and treatment of products, strict carbon footprint evaluation specifications have been implemented to ensure that carbon emissions during the entire product life cycle are effectively controlled. As one of the first batch of enterprises to be awarded the Greater Bay Area Carbon Footprint Label Certification, HKC actively explores the application of renewable, degradable and recyclable materials in products. Starting from the supply chain level, and simultaneously in multiple dimensions such as design concepts, packaging material processes, technological innovations and standard setting, it fully undertakes the social responsibility of energy conservation and emission reduction from the B-end to the C-end, and is committed to bringing a more environmentally friendly usage experience to users and cooperative customers.

On the supply chain level, HKC has formulated internal medium- and long-term implementation plans for green and low-carbon development, and put forward a series of strategic measures for green supply chain management and optimizing the green design of products. Starting from the five major dimensions of quality, delivery time, service, cooperation and corporate social responsibility, the supply performance evaluation throughout the entire life cycle is carried out to build a high-quality procurement ecological chain, control the quality of materials from the source, reduce environmental pollution, and work together with suppliers to build an honest, clean, environmentally friendly and green production environment, and construct a green supply chain platform in multiple dimensions to lead the green development of the industry.

In terms of design concepts, HKC adheres to the ecological design concept throughout the entire life cycle. In accordance with relevant standards such as the General Rules for the Evaluation of Ecological Design Products (GB/T 32161-2015), it actively enhances environmental awareness. During the product design and manufacturing process, recycled materials are widely used, the concepts of reuse and modular design are incorporated, and emphasis is placed on the innovative application of energy-saving, environmental protection and green production technologies. At the same time, strict control is implemented on waste to ensure the maximum utilization of resources and the minimum impact on the environment within the entire life cycle of the product.

In terms of packaging, HKC optimizes the packaging methods and structures to achieve lightweight and plastic-reducing designs, form the optimal packaging strategy, significantly reduce the amount of materials used and increase the transportation loading rate. Measures such as implementing "paperless instruction manuals" (canceling the paper instruction manuals inside the packaging and replacing them with the electronic versions displayed on the official website), streamlining the language description of QSG, etc., have been taken to reduce the use of paper materials and optimize the material efficiency. These measures reduce the environmental impact within the packaging life cycle, save natural resources and are committed to reducing resource waste.

In terms of technological innovation and the construction of green design capabilities, HKC has established an enterprise technology center and an energy efficiency laboratory. Through a big data analysis platform, a core database for enterprise green design covering data information at all levels has been created. Through multi-dimensional analysis of the data, the differences in the product green design process are explored, summarized and analyzed, and the design decisions are digitalized and intelligentized to achieve intelligent green design of products.

In promoting the development of green display technologies, HKC actively participates in the formulation of multiple green design standards and technical specifications for display products, such as the Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades of Monitors, the Evaluation Specification for Green Factories in the Household Appliance Industry, and the Technical Specification for the Evaluation of Green Design Products - Liquid Crystal Display Devices. By strengthening technological reserves, promoting the construction and commissioning of production bases, realizing technological industrialization, promoting product innovation, enriching product combinations and deepening strategic cooperation with high-quality customers, it actively cultivates green brands.

Promoting green development and building ecological civilization is the common cause of all mankind. HKC will continue to adhere to the development concept of green and low-carbon, continuously innovate technologies and optimize products to contribute to the construction of a more green and sustainable display industry ecosystem. Meanwhile, HKC will also actively play a leading role in the industry, drive more enterprises to join the ranks of carbon footprint label certification, jointly promote the green and low-carbon development process in the Greater Bay Area and even globally, and work together to create a green future!
